Abstract
Coffee is the most popular caffeine-containing beverage in the world, followed by water and tea. It is considered an essential part of people's everyday lives since it has an alerting impact on the human brain. Furthermore, it is the primary source of caffeine intake among college students, especially nursing students because of their busy schedules at school and at the hospital. Due to the fact that coffee affects social aspects, adolescents drink coffee for its flavor, and increased attention because it enhances physical energy levels, and mood, as well as helps relieve stress. This quantitative descriptive correlational research investigated the significant relationship between caffeine consumption in coffee beverages and their effects on the well-being of one hundred fifty (150) selected nursing students of the University of Batangas. The researchers made use of self-made and standardized questionnaires to gather data from the respondents. Statistical techniques such as Standard Deviation and Pearson's r were also used. Analyzed data revealed that selected nursing students were fully aware of the effects of caffeine consumption on social and mood, energy and work, and physical, and the majority of respondents are young adults, predominantly female second-year students who drink iced coffee frequently. Thus, nursing students, in line with the effects of consuming coffee beverages have a significant relationship with appetite. Furthermore, in line with the results of the study, the researchers would like to propose an action plan to promote healthy diets and enhance knowledge regarding the effects of caffeine on the appetite of the students.
