Abstract
Mentoring in nursing education has evolved to focus on collaboration and empowerment, enhancing clinical skills, professional growth, and emotional resilience through personalized guidance. This reflective journey helps students identify their strengths and weaknesses, fostering essential skills for a successful nursing career. This study used a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative, non-experimental research, to assess the impact of mentoring on perceived life stress and social support among 99 randomly selected nursing students at the University of Batangas. Researchers utilized a standardized questionnaire and simple random sampling. The findings showed that most respondents were female, aged 18-20, primarily first-year students with regular academic status. They mostly came from middle-income, nuclear families. The study revealed that nursing students experienced moderate levels of perceived life stress and social support, mainly due to academic and clinical demands. There was no significant correlation between perceived life stress and types of support, nor between demographic profiles and the impact of mentoring. However, qualitative data highlighted stress from financial constraints, academic progress, and family dynamics, with financial stress affecting both performance and social interactions.
