| Abstract |
| The study, titled “The Healthcare Practices of the Residents in Putingkahoy,
Rosario, Batangas,” aimed to identify and assess the healthcare practices of residents in
relation to their demographic profiles, including age, sex, marital status, occupation, and
monthly income. Using a quantitative–descriptive correlational research design, data
were gathered from 160 residents aged 36 years old and above through a structured
survey questionnaire and analyzed using frequency, percentage, weighted mean,
Pearson correlation coefficient, and Mann–Whitney U test. Results revealed that most
respondents were middle-aged, female, and married, with farming and manual labor as
common occupations. Findings showed that while residents demonstrated awareness of
basic health practices, factors such as limited health literacy, insufficient resources, and
reliance on traditional beliefs affected healthcare utilization. A significant relationship was
found between selected demographic variables and healthcare practices. The study
concludes that health-seeking behaviors in Putingkahoy are shaped by socioeconomic
and cultural conditions, emphasizing the need for enhanced community health education
and integration of traditional and modern healthcare to promote equitable access and
improved health outcomes. |
