Abstract
Online readiness indicates the person's physical and mental preparedness to gain a learning experience. Each student has different expectations and demands, and teachers must be aware of these to enhance students' learning experiences. This non-experimental and descriptive research investigated the expectations and extent of readiness of 91 freshman nursing students of the University of Batangas. The researchers utilized simple random sampling and convenience sampling in selecting the study’s respondents. The study findings revealed that freshman nursing students strongly agreed with their course instructor to provide feedback in a constructive manner. It was also determined that the majority of the nursing students are ready for self directed learning and technology skills needed in clinical electronic learning. Furthermore, it was concluded that there is a significant correlation between the expectations of the freshmen nursing students and their readiness to clinical electronic learning. Thus, the researchers recommended that the Department of College of Nursing and Midwifery add an activity during the freshman’s virtual orientation in which they would be placed in a breakout room with some 3rd year and 4th year nursing students to freely ask and share about their experiences as their seniors. Furthermore, the researchers proposed an action plan to develop the freshman nursing students’ readiness to electronic learning.
