Abstract
Teaching Approaches when used in an institution aids educators with broad techniques to help students successfully attain their learning outcomes. It guides Students to master the topics taught in class and apply the discussed topics in the field. As a challenging program, Nursing requires students to be well-versed with the discussion content of their instructors for them to be able to apply this during their duties. For this to be attained, a type of education or approach must be applied by the instructors. This quantitative and correlational research assessed the 120 nursing students of the University of Batangas regarding the effects of the Outcomes-Based Education approach when applied by their instructors during lessons and if the said approach greatly affects the Teaching Effectiveness of instructors and their Learning Outcomes. The researchers utilized the simple-random sampling and a self-constructed questionnaire validated by professionals to collect the pertinent data. The results of the study showed that Outcomes-Based Education has no significant effect on the successful attainment of the nursing student's learning outcomes. The respondents mostly answered that they encounter the different indicators under the OBE approach and that these indicators have an effect on how they perform in class. Furthermore, the findings show that the teaching of the educators is deemed to be effective when the outcomes-based education is applied and the nursing students attain their learning outcomes through the OBE approach. Lastly, the researchers created a plan of action to further implement the application of the outcomes-based education approach in the College of Nursing and midwifery department of the University of Batangas.
