Abstract
Online Examinations are one of the ways wherein the instructors are able to assess their students during this pandemic. It has become an essential aspect of nursing competency for instructors to analyze the students’ knowledge through summative and formative assessments. However, there are mixed reactions from the students that can affect their level of engagement in e-learning. Student engagement is essential for the nursing students because being highly engaged can provide new ideas and better ways of performing practice, thus, a better quality of care. This non-experimental and descriptive research assessed the 174 nursing students of the University of Batangas regarding their perspective on the effectiveness of remote online examination and their level of engagement in e-learning. The researchers utilized the random and convenience sampling design and online questionnaire derived from two study via Google forms. The results of the study showed that the respondents have a positive perceptive towards the effectiveness of remote online examinations. Moreover, the majority of the respondents stated that their level of engagement in e-learning is highly developed. Furthermore, the findings revealed a positive correlation between the perspective of nursing students towards the effectiveness of remote online examination and their level of engagement in e-learning. Lastly, the researchers formulated an action plan to promote the enhancement of the level of student engagement in e-learning.
