Abstract
One of the most common conditions that disable older people and reduce their productivity is osteoarthritis. Numerous important factors influence how senior citizens with osteoarthritis live a healthy lifestyle. The objective of this study, which is quantitative, descriptive and non-experimental, is to identify the factors that influence the healthy lifestyle of fifty (50) senior citizens with osteoarthritis who live in Sta. Rita Karsada, Batangas. The researchers chose senior citizens diagnosed with osteoarthritis who were 60 years of age and older using a convenience and purposive sampling research design. The study's findings showed that senior citizens with osteoarthritis are having much difficulty in terms of their physical and functional abilities. The findings about senior citizens' nutritional status indicate that they are aware of the foods that cause osteoarthritis yet nevertheless consume a lot of them. The majority of senior citizens had normal scores for depression and abnormal scores for anxiety, according to the results of the depression and anxiety scales. Additionally, the findings showed that there is no significant relationship between the demographic profile and the factors affecting health- promoting lifestyle among senior citizens with osteoarthritis. The researchers put forth an action plan that would help senior citizens live better by concentrating on the discussion and recommendations of the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and proper diet.
