Abstract
The study, titled "LiBrahman Catalog: A Proposed Improvement of the University of Batangas Learning Resource Center (UBLRC), "aims to enhance the accessibility, usability, and interactivity of the existing UBLRC by introducing a redesigned resource center system. The proposed system, named LiBrahman Catalog, addresses key challenges such as limited availability of academic resources, absence of downloadable or offline-accessible materials, and minimal interactive features. Using a descriptive-comparative research design, chosen to assess differences in user perceptions between two systems, the study gathered data from 30 purposively selected respondents—senior high school students, college students, and faculty members—through a content-validated survey questionnaire. Using a descriptive-comparative research design, chosen to assess differences in user perceptions between two systems, the study gathered data from 30 purposively selected respondents—senior high school students, college students, and faculty members—through a content-validated survey questionnaire. The findings reveal that the existing UBLRC is generally functional but lacks in areas such as offline access, advanced search efficiency, and text-to-speech audio rendering. In contrast, the proposed LiBrahman Catalog demonstrates significant improvements in accessibility, interactivity, and usability, with features including a mobile-responsive interface, refined search filters, and interactive tools such as real-time chat support and a built-in narrator function. Statistical analysis using a 4-point Likert scale, weighted mean, composite mean, and t-test indicates a significant difference in user perceptions between the existing and proposed systems, particularly in accessibility and search precision, and interactive engagement. The study concludes that the LiBrahman Catalog offers a more user-friendly and inclusive platform, though further enhancements in offline access and search functionality are recommended. These findings suggest that the proposed system may serve as a model for enhancing digital resource centers in academic institutions, fostering a more engaging and efficient learning environment for the University of Batangas community.
