Abstract
This study aims to address water pollution in Batangas municipalities, which poses serious threats to ecosystems, wildlife, and human health. Autonomous, energy-efficient solutions are crucial for long-term and large-scale pollution mitigation. This study aims to develop an autonomous river cleaner powered by renewable energy, primarily solar and current energy. Researchers will seek feedback with electrical and electronics engineers to assess its sustainability, technical structure, and maintenance requirements. The study expects to: (a) formulate a design that is functional and operates on solar and current energy, (b) achieve a measurable reduction in garbage and plastic in Batangas rivers, and (c) increase awareness and adoption of autonomous, renewable-powered design for water pollution mitigation. By aligning with SDG 14: Life Below Water, the project directly contributes to improving aquatic ecosystems, reducing water contamination, and fostering sustainable environmental practices. The use of renewable energy ensures an eco-friendly approach, while its autonomous operation makes it a scalable and innovative solution for long-term pollution management.
